Monteith's is celebrating Waitangi Day 2009 Friday 6th February 2009 - The historic Waitangi day is a very special one for many New Zealanders all over the world and marks a memorable occasion in the nation's calendar. As the national day of New Zealand and public holiday there are many celebrations taking place on the 6th February to mark the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand 's founding document, which took place between the Maori and the British in 1840.
