he Drake is the result of 7 month’s
rejuvenation, by the Horse & Trap Team, to the original
foreshore pub, known as Freemans, established in 1849.
Your Local Meeting Place gives Freemans Bay, Auckland
& New Zealand a Classic Heritage Bar.
The natural timber flooring & brick enhanced with
beautiful leather seating, one of the four original
fireplaces, the centre feature of the bar, with additional
Auckland Quarry stone Fireplace, retain the classic
feel, with our modern focus to customer service &
standards.
The re-introduction of this Classic New Zealand Bar
proudly serves the Monteith’s, (est. 1868), Craft
Beers with the Seasonal Monteith’s Summer flows
off Tap. The team suggest you try the Monteith’s
Tasting Rack, allowing a sample of the Monteith’s
Family of Five.
Continuing the trend in food and beer matching, the
Drake offers an innovative menu, including Wild Food
items, and great selections of platters, matched to
their Monteith's beers. Watch out for the Monteith’s
Black & Bluff Oyster Match.
The Drake, Your Local
Meeting Place, has Two Private Function Rooms available
for hire, which are suitable for the Business market
for such uses as Conferences, Seminars, Training, Product
Launches, Cocktail Parties, Private Dining Room and
Xmas parties, plus the Personal market for such functions
as Weddings, Engagements Parties, and 21st Parties,
Birthday Celebrations etc.
