he Horse & Trap continues as Auckland’s first Monteith's Classic Craft Bar, proudly serving all five of the classy New Zealand Monteith's craft beers as well as the very popular Monteith's Summer Ale on tap.

The interior delivers a warm, rustic New Zealand feel, which incorporated highlighting the exposed wooden beams and support structures, installing two gas-fired fireplaces encased by Auckland quarry stone, laying a French oak wooden floor, fitting wood panelling on the walls, bringing in chunky oak wooden tables, chairs and leaners (a furnishing icon in early NZ pubs) and extending out the sun-drenched deck area.

Leading the trend in food and beer matching, the Horse & Trap offers an innovative menu, including Wild Food specials, matched to their Monteith's beers. The team suggest you try the Monteith’s Tasting Rack, allowing a sample of the Monteith’s Family of Five.

Enjoy the many events and activities hosted by the Horse & Trap Team, including Trivia Quiz Night every Tuesday, WildFood Taster Giveaways cooked on a BBQ and matched to the Monteith's Beers on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Live music by an Acoustic duo play from 7:00pm to 10:00pm every Saturday evening.

The Horse & Trap also has a Private Function Room available for hire, which is suitable for the Business market for such uses as Conferences, Seminars, Training, Product Launches, Cocktail Parties, Private Dining Room and Xmas parties, plus the Personal market for such functions as Weddings, Engagements Parties, 21st Parties, Birthday Celebrations etc.
