Juicy description
Monteiths limited-release Saison
Biere has been brewed to celebrate the autumn harvest
in New Zealand and the heritage of beer from French
speaking southern Belgium.
As summer approached in days gone by, brewing efforts
were often halted and beers were then cellared over
the warmer months. Hopefully some survived the thirst
of summer to be enjoyed during the festivals of autumn.
The Saison style is known for its unique golden amber
hue and strong hop flavour which is tinged with a sweet
spiciness and offers fruity and malty aromas.
Monteiths Saison Biere has an equally distinctive
aroma and a hugely intriguing mouth feel with pleasing
raisin-like notes complemented by the slightly tart
citrus notes of Monteiths exclusively grown Saaz
hop. This beer will delight and surprise people not
used to these unusual hop flavours.
Monteiths has used its own special hop variety
to create Saison Biere which is infused with fruity
and spicy highlights supported by a range of malts.
As with the origins of the classic Belgian-styled beer,
Monteiths Saison Biere has been allowed to develop
its flavours during the warm days of summer in preparation
for the coming autumns enjoyment. This beer is
not pasteurized which allows it to better retain its
natural flavour and heritage.
Monteiths Saison Biere is a striking example
of the autumn beers of old Belgium and the perfect match
for dishes such as duck, hearty stews and spicy sausages.
